I have seen many "shooting stars" in my life and this was completely different. The size was massive compared to how the stars appear. It was about 1/6th the size of the moon, which looked large (at that time) and had a long tail. It was amazing to see!

It was quite large and had a long tail. It split into two pieces right before disappearing. One piece was about 3/4 of the original size and the other about 1/4 of the original size. The center was bright white with a bluish ring around the edges. Both pieces maintained that appearance after breaking apart. I am not sure if it burned out or just fell below my line of site behind the mountains.
